The Pole Vault

I have always been fascinated by pole vaulting as a sport. I almost decided to try it once in high school, but decided that I would most certainly land on my head. Now I regret that decision — my head is pretty hard. It probably could have handled it.

In East London, pole vaulting is even more difficult. Not only do you need to clear the Tower Bridge — which (a) is high, and (b) has water running beneath it — but you need to vault off a dolphin.

Tonight I am at the Host Gallery on Honduras street for the Shoot London Exhibition. Hence your normal Tech and World article is not present.

But hey — pole vault!
