The morning coffee likes to chase cheese and hug
Apologies, dear Internet — I wrote this this morning, but something went wrong, and it never managed to make it onto the blog! Enjoy your evening coffee, instead.
Chasing a rolling cheese down a hill, one might be forgiven for thinking, is a slightly insane and British thing to do. One may still be forgiven for thinking it to be insane, but it is not exclusively British. This year’s Cheese Victor is from New Zealand.
Note that this site warns potential players that they “will be injured”!

Confabulatory hypermnesia does not just sound cool — it is actually quite interesting. Also known as “severe false memory syndrome”, I think it would be absolutely fascinating to talk to somebody with it for a few hours.
A most awesome quote from this New York Times story:
Comforting as the hug may be, principals across the country have clamped down. “Touching and physical contact is very dangerous territory,” said Noreen Hajinlian, the principal of George G. White School, a junior high school in Hillsdale, N.J., who banned hugging two years ago. “It was needless hugging — they are in the hallways before they go to class. It wasn’t a greeting. It was happening all day.” (emphasis added).
Banned hugging? Really? Kids these days, all messed up on the HUG?
