Jetlag’s a funny thing

We arrive in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday night, after leaving London on Friday night. Sunset to sunset, no sunrise in between. We slept on the plane, but were exhausted anyways. Sleep beckoned, and we were in bed before midnight.

Excellent, I thought. No jetlag, right to a normal schedule.

Well, not quite. Sunday featured sleeping in until 11:30, local time. Still — that was OK. Sleeping in on a Sunday. This is somewhere close to normal. Monday will be easy.

Not so fast.

Sunday night, it was impossible to fall asleep. Barely slept. Barely woke up. Monday has been quite the jetlagged day.

Luckily (?!) fatigue is in full effect as I write this. I am hoping that this leads to a night of sleep, and movement to a normal pattern of sleeping and waking hours. Hoping, but not hopeful. I thought that Sunday would be fine, and then that Monday would be fine. Tuesday is not fooling me so easily.

In any case, here’s a bunch of coffee. I expect to be seeing plenty of it this week.
