The morning coffee and the train wreck
Apparently, in the United States, you do not have to buy medical insurance, despite the existence of “Obamacare” and what you have heard in the press. Instead, you can sign up to a Christian Medical Ministry.
If you’re asking what?, you’re thinking what I was thinking.
A Christian Medical Ministry is a Christian organization in which each member contributes a monthly amount (lets call it a “premium”) to help cover the medical needs of everybody in the ministry.
This probably sounds like insurance — but that’s where you would be wrong. Insurance would then cover your medical costs, when they arrive. A Christian Medical Ministry does not make any such promises. They only accept your premiums. Oh — and pray for you! That’s important, right?
Here at the Big Bad Blog, we are amazed to learn that there are people who fall for these scams.
