Less than one
We just passed another milestone or three. I am not sure if they occurred on Friday. Or yesterday. Or today. Maybe it’s one of each.
There’s a key number involved in these milestones. And that number is one.
One is more than the number of months until my daughter — who is, of course, sure to be perfectly punctual — is scheduled to swiftly and smoothly leave her mother’s womb and enter the larger world.
Less than a month. Karen is in her ninth month of pregnancy.
As of 5 pm on Friday — or maybe 9 am this morning, I’m really not sure — Karen started maternity leave. We have a baby shower scheduled for Saturday. A month from now we could quite well be in our new home with our new daughter examining our shiny new poo charts.
It’s hitting home. But it’s surreal.
And last night — with exactly one month to go — we took a few photos so that you can see how the three of us are doing. And that the baby will not be shoeless.
