The morning coffee thanks you for your support

Thank you, internet. Yesterday I had trouble finding interesting things, and today you have responded. I am overwhelmed by the number of things that I want to include.

But I will be strong, and stick to my formula!

So the top news story of the day: Pair held for ‘offending Islam’: A newspaper in Calcutta republished a British article called Why should I respect these oppressive religions? It is about how the need to avoid offending religious people is curtailing the ability to critique religion. Apparently the desire to be able to criticise religion free of prosecution is now itself an act worthy of prosecution. (found via A Candle in the Dark)

My favourite blog entry this morning (and this was not an easy choice today, folks), is entitled Modern Proverbs and makes some slight updates to traditional sayings.

My blews for today: BoingBoing reports that The Electronic Frontier Foundation has asked the FTC to protect the public from DRM. Which is awesome
