Following the earthquake in Chile, it was widely reported that the length of an earth day was shortened. Less well reported is the fact that it moved cities. Concepción moved ten feet to the west. Much further away, Buenos Aires moved only an inch westward.

This silly US Senate crisis over Roland Burris appears to finally be over. I still have no idea how the Senate felt it was OK not to allow a legally-appointed Senator to be sworn in. That would set a precedent empowering government not to allow democratically-elected members.
Do you understand Freakonomics continued obsession with buying organs? I’m not sure I do. And I cannot imagine any court ever actually considering a demand for the “return” of a donated organ.
